Cost Effectiveness of Allergy Care for State Allergy Society Presidents

The JCAAI is pleased to inform you of a PowerPoint Presentation demonstrating the cost effectiveness of the allergist in the care of patients with asthma. This is part of the JCAAI Campaign for Fair Reimbursement. We have learned that insurance carriers are putting up significant barriers to interfere with patient access to their allergist. The most common barrier is a high co-payment. Other barriers include inappropriate bundling of services which under compensate some of our fellow allergists to the point that they are having trouble continuing to provide care for all their patients. This slide presentation demonstrates how much money allergy care provided by an allergist can save, thus making these restrictions counterproductive for the insurance company.
